Issue

Migrate to Issue

Move house without losing a reader.

Bring your subscribers, paid members, posts and comments from your current newsletter tool. Most publications move in an afternoon, and it's free on every plan.

§ 01Five steps

From export to Thursday

  1. 1

    Export from your current tool

Download the subscriber CSV and, if you can, the posts export. Most newsletter tools have both under settings.

  2. 2

    Upload to Issue

Drop the files in. We read the columns, spot duplicates and show you exactly what will move before anything does.

  3. 3

    Match your tiers

Tell us which old plan becomes which Issue tier. Paid members keep their price and renewal date.

  4. 4

    Connect payments

Link your payment account. Subscriptions are reattached to Issue without members re-entering a card.

  5. 5

    Point your domain and send

We redirect the old links, you send a short note to say you've moved, and Thursday goes out as usual.

§ 02What moves

Everything you built comes with you.

If it's in your export, it lands in Issue. If it isn't, a migration editor will help you fetch it.

§ 03Timeline

A typical move, start to finish

  1. Hour 0

    Upload

CSV in, preview out. Nothing has changed for readers yet.

  2. Hour 1

    Review

Check the import report, fix tier mapping, merge duplicates.

  3. Day 1

    Switch

Payments reconnected, domain pointed, old links redirected.

  4. Day 7

    Settle

Your migration editor checks deliverability and closes the ticket.

§ 04Questions

The worries everyone has

Will my subscribers have to sign up again?

No. They move with their consent history, signup dates and tags. Nobody receives a confirmation email unless you ask us to send one.

What about paid members and their card details?

Card details never pass through Issue. Members stay on your payment account, and we reconnect their subscriptions to your new tiers. Renewal dates stay the same.

Do old post links keep working?

Yes. We import your archive with its original publish dates, and when you connect your domain we set up redirects from the old addresses.

How long does it take?

Most publications under 25,000 subscribers move in a single afternoon. Larger lists or paid members across many tiers take one to three days, with a migration editor beside you.

Is migrating free?

Always. Assisted migration is included on every plan, including Starter.

Your readers won’t notice the move. Your accountant will.
